Abstract

A method for finishing grinding of cylindrical surfaces to high purity classes by diamond wheels was presented in this
work. It is that a cup diamond wheel is pressed by springs to the processed part with a constant force and is set so that the axes
of rotation of the wheel and the processed part mutually intersect at right angles. This provides a high class of surface finish.
Despite the fact that this method was invented a relatively long time ago, among specialists discussions continue about the
processes taking place in the contact zone between the tool and the part that make it possible to perform precision processing
by such simple and available means. It was tasked with rethink and try to develop understanding of this process, by looking at
the contacting pair of a blank - a tool, as a dynamic system. The theory of this type of grinding has evolved in this work from
the point of view of a pair of tools - a machined cylinder performing frictional contact as a dynamic system. In the contact
zone on the working surface of the circle appears a section that covers the processed cylindrical surface, which reduces the
level of vibrations. As a result of this work, the theory of finishing grinding of cylindrical surfaces with diamond wheels was
further developed.
