Abstract

The article proposes an approach to assessing the change in the average steady-state deceleration characterizing the
efficiency of the braking process of vehicles under operating conditions. It is noted that the conditions for carrying out brake
tests of prototypes and serial models of vehicles at the manufacturing plant provide for their full load.At the same time, when
monitoring the technical condition of vehicles in operation, it was previously envisaged to conduct brake tests both at full load
and in running order. The latest state standard of Ukraine stipulates the standards for the braking efficiency of cars only in the
equipped condition, in which there is a certain inaccuracy. The graph of the dependence of the minimum permissible average
steady-state deceleration during control checks on the relative time is obtained. A forecast of changes in the regulatory
requirements for the braking efficiency of light vehicles (category M1) at full load, depending on the relative time, has been
made
