Abstract

Problem of the fretting corrosion protection for rotary machines parts surfaces is considered in the work. A new technology for strengthening the of elastic coupling parts which working under conditions of fretting corrosion is proposed. The method contains a chemical-physical effect on the elastic coupling parts surface layer in contact with the friction pair, which is carried out by the method of epilamation. The parts are washed, degreased, placed in a metal basket, immersed in a metal container with a solution for epilamation, boiled at a temperature of 47-50 0C for 45 min, then removed and dried. The increase in resistance to fretting corrosion is confirmed by a significant decrease in the roughness indices Ra, Rz, Rmax of the friction surfaces, by 1.55; 1.53 and 1.39 times, respectively. The process of epilamation is low in cost due to the use of simple and cheap equipment to reduce the complexity of processing.
