Abstract

The paper presents the results of the granulometric and physico-chemical composition of microparticles of contaminants removed from the rolling path of two batches of two different sizes of miniature ball bearings by selected cleaning methods. Examination of the removed contaminants was carried out using a laser scanning microscope LSDFMP and a scanning electron microscope REM-106Y. Detailed analysis showed that the extracted microparticles had the following types of contaminants: non-metallic particles, steel shavings and dust, copper alloy dust, organic fibers and aged lubricant residues, which ranged in size from a few nanometers to 50 microns. Based on the results of comparative laboratory studies, a new method of comprehensive cleaning of miniature rolling bearings under the action of combined pulse variable magnetic, turbulent and ultrasonic fields is proposed
