Improvement of rapeseed dryer design
Abstract
The paper presents a theoretical generalization of existing rapeseed drying technologies and proposes a new solution that is to improve the technological process of rapeseed drying by intensifying drying by loosening and mixing a layer of material in the drying chamber of the dryer. The need for loosening and mixing of dispersed agricultural material, in particular rapeseed, during the drying process is confirmed by the analysis. The mechanical mixing system is located in the drying chamber of the dryer. This system is vertical augers. The augers move the seeds up and down. This loosens and mixes the grain layer. The method of calculation of energy costs for the mixing system is proposed. This leads to the conclusion that it is advisable to use such drying methods. The use of the proposed design of the drying chamber, as well as methods of calculating its parameters, will significantly reduce energy consumption in general.
