MODELING DISCRETE MANUFACTURING PROCESSES USING SIMPY
Abstract
The use of discrete manufacturing process models using SimPy has significant potential in many industries, such as manufacturing, logistics, transportation, service, and others. It allows predicting the operation of systems, finding optimal solutions, identifying critical points, and developing strategies to improve the efficiency and quality of processes. This paper is devoted to the use of SimPy as a tool for modeling discrete production processes and analyzing the effectiveness of various process control strategies in real-world conditions using statistical methods. Using the SimPy library, we modeled the waiting time for trucks at a weighing station; a discrete production process; a service system with equipment breakdowns and a repair process.
