Review of the application of air power systems in transport
Abstract
The possibilities of using compressed air-based energy systems in power drives of motor vehicles are analyzed. The advantages and limitations of pneumatic systems compared to traditional hydraulic and electromechanical drives are analyzed. The main technical parameters that affect the efficiency of such systems are determined, in particular the level of energy consumption, energy losses and reliability of operation under increased loads. The prospects for implementing modern technologies for accumulating and regulating compressed air to increase the productivity and environmental safety of equipment are considered. Ways of optimizing systems are proposed that will contribute to reducing operating costs and increasing the energy efficiency of vehicles. It is established that compressed air-based energy systems can be used as the main source of power without emissions or as an auxiliary power unit in motor vehicles, ensuring zero carbon emissions and improved overall energy efficiency of integrated design solutions. The article presents a detailed technological development of compressed air-based power systems, summarizes the research on power units operating on this technology in the transport sector. Special attention is paid to the development of new technologies, prototyping and integration of pneumatic systems. In addition, hybrid technologies based on compressed air, which use various methods of pneumatic hybridization, are considered in detail, which allows better use of their advantages and limitations. The prospects and challenges of implementing compressed air-based technologies in power drives of road transport are discussed. It is expected that the modernization of power systems in this sector will contribute to technological development and the implementation of environmentally friendly solutions without emissions in transport.
