Economic essence and significance of logistics for enterprise activities

Abstract

In recent times Ukrainian economy has operated on the edge of default. The gap between the Ukrainian and the world economy becomes wider every year. Continuous crisis, political, social and economic unсertainty, war actions in the county have a detrimental effect on the current stage and development of all economic sectors. To save and strengthen its positions on the market the enterprises should respond quickly and adequately to the changes of the external environment. Defining and implementing new methods of administration will maintain sustainable development of enterprise and strengthen its positions on the market. The concept of Logistics Management is one of such methods.

The article highlights general aspects of modern understanding of logistics. The study shows the correct functioning and proper interaction of structural elements of logistics processes at the plant will increase the effectiveness of management decisions. The paper analyses domestic and foreign definitions of 'logistics'. The paper examines economic essence and importance logistics. The study shows that logistics allows you to control all processes where you can save, namely the supply, sale, transportation, packaging, procurement, communication with customs and government agencies. The article examines phases and stages of development of logistics. The research shows that most of the producers and intermediaries of Western Europe will be in the third and fourth stages of logistics systems in the near future. The article describes classification of logistics. The research examines logistics integration with the main areas of the company.
