Publishing ethics, duties, and policies
Lutsk National Technical University, as the publisher of the scientific journal "Technological Complexes", follows the principles developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal adheres to the general criteria for scientific publications, as detailed in the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals (Vancouver Guidelines), developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. Additionally, the journal is guided by the LNTU Code of Honor in its activities.
The publisher expects editors, authors, and reviewers to adhere to high standards of publishing ethics. We encourage our editors, authors, and reviewers to collaborate in accordance with the Code of Conduct adopted by COPE.
In publishing the journal, we comply with relevant laws and regulations protecting intellectual property rights and copyrights.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY
The journal has a Policy regarding conflicts of interest (see below) and adheres to COPE principles for handling misconduct. Thus, allegations of misconduct will be thoroughly investigated to ensure research integrity.
Plagiarism detection software is used to check articles. Any cases of plagiarism will be addressed in accordance with COPE guidelines.
POLICY ON THE USE OF AI AND TECHNOLOGIES THAT USE AI
Large Language Models, e.g. ChatGPT, do not currently meet our authorship criteria since they bear no accountability for the work submitted and cannot approve the version to be published. Any technology that is critical to reproducing the study --- including any AI tool such as ChatGPT --- should be explicitly described in the Method section, along with the version number, user settings, and other information critical to reproducibility.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must adhere to high standards of publishing ethics and maintain proper communication with the editor(s), publisher, and their co-authors. Authors should refrain from distorting research results, which could discredit the journal, undermine trust in the professionalism of scientific authorship, and ultimately harm the scientific community as a whole.
The author submitting an article to the journal:
- is obliged to participate in the review process, responding to reviewers' comments, withdrawing the article or correcting errors;
- is responsible for a correctly formatted list of references, indicating financial (grant) support for the research;
- is prohibited to: publish the same study in several journals, provide data from other studies, ;engage in plagiarism, provide data without proper respect for copyrighted material;
- submit a manuscript containing any verbal manifestations of xenophobia or intolerance on the grounds of age, disability, ethnicity, origin, political views, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, language, culture and other types of discrimination;
- certifies that the article presents a concise, accurate summary of the research conducted, as well as an objective discussion of its significance. The document must contain sufficient detail and references to publicly available sources of information.
