The development of the machine tool industry, driven by the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, equipment, and production management methods, is a crucial factor for industrial growth. Continuous and stringent requirements for higher productivity and quality in the manufacturing of machine parts and structures necessitate the improvement of methods for developing new machine tool models. The objective is to minimize design and manufacturing time while optimizing resource consumption.
The application of the aggregate-modular principle enables the rapid creation of manufacturing equipment from a relatively limited set of unified units within the framework of modern automated production.
This study analyzes the conditions, limitations, and specific features of applying the modular principle to the creation of new CNC machine tools. The structural units of machines designed using the modular approach are systematized, alongside the conditions for implementing unified modules. Furthermore, the general principles of modular configuration for metal-cutting CNC machine tools are examined, and a refined algorithm for the design synthesis of new machine tools is proposed.
