A compact structure for reviewing the main characteristics of machines for automatic feeding of long bar stock is proposed, which contributes to improving the efficiency of decision-making for their selection under given production constraints. The resulting structure contains four main information blocks, which systematise information describing: advantages and selection factors, types of systems, configurations by bar length, feeding technologies and integration with the machine. A sequence of steps and an evaluation function S for weighing economic efficiency, material compatibility, geometric requirements, and integration risks have been developed. The results obtained form the basis for creating a practical template for formalising and standardising the selection of bar feeding machines in serial production.
