Abstract

This paper summarizes the current state of research on ZrB₂-based ceramics and their modification using high-entropy systems. The influence of composition and fabrication technologies on densification processes, microstructure formation, and mechanical properties of the materials is analyzed. The main problems of ZrB₂ are assessed, in particular its low fracture toughness and sintering difficulties, and the effectiveness of using high-entropy alloy (HEA) additives to address these issues is demonstrated. Promising directions for further development are proposed, focusing on composition optimization, phase state control, and the improvement of manufacturing technologies for high-density composite materials designed for use in extreme conditions.
