ROLE AND PLACE OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Abstract

The article examines the role and place of intellectual property in the development of the machine-building industry. The current state of legal protection of inventions, utility models and industrial designs in Ukraine is analyzed, and their economic significance for enterprises is determined. Particular attention is paid to the issues of commercialization of the results of intellectual activity, in particular, to the mechanisms of licensing, technology transfer and partnership with research institutions. The main problems of the intellectual property system in Ukraine are identified: the low level of patent activity in machine-building, the complexity of judicial protection and the limited license market. Ways of improving the national system of protection of intellectual property rights are proposed, taking into account European experience. It is concluded that the effective use of intellectual property is a key factor in increasing the innovative potential and competitiveness of machine-building enterprises in Ukraine.
