Publication Ethics and Editorial Policy

The ethical standards of the scientific journal “Agricultural Machines” are based on the principles of academic integrity, scientific responsibility, objectivity, and internationally recognized practices of scholarly publishing.

The Journal’s editorial policy complies with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), and other internationally recognized standards in publication ethics.

All editorial processes are aimed at ensuring the scientific quality of publications, reliability and reproducibility of research results, and protection of the rights of all participants in the publication process.

The editorial policy is implemented through a system of interrelated documents, including the Peer Review Policy, Plagiarism Policy, Conflict of Interest Policy, Artificial Intelligence Usage Policy, Retraction Policy, and Complaints Policy.

1. Principles of Editorial Responsibility

The editorial team ensures an impartial evaluation of all manuscripts regardless of the authors’ affiliation, academic degree, nationality, or personal beliefs.

Decisions on publication are based solely on:

  • scientific novelty;

  • engineering and technical relevance;

  • methodological soundness;

  • reliability of results;

  • compliance with the Journal’s scope.

Editors are responsible for:

  • maintaining confidentiality of submitted manuscripts;

  • not using unpublished materials in their own research;

  • responding appropriately to violations of publication ethics.

The peer review process is conducted in accordance with the Journal’s Peer Review Policy.

2. Principles of Peer Review

Peer review is an essential part of the editorial process and is conducted on the basis of objectivity, confidentiality, and professional responsibility.

Reviewers are expected to:

  • provide objective and well-reasoned evaluations;

  • consider the reproducibility of results;

  • adhere to established deadlines;

  • declare any conflicts of interest.

Reviewers must not use unpublished materials for personal purposes.

Authors guarantee that:

  • the submitted work is original and conducted using legitimate scientific methods;

  • data are not fabricated, falsified, or manipulated;

  • results are reproducible;

  • all sources are properly cited;

  • the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.

If significant errors are discovered after publication, authors must promptly inform the editorial office.

4. Ethical Requirements for Research

All research must comply with applicable national legislation and international ethical standards.

If research involves human participants or machine operators, authors must confirm voluntary participation and adherence to safety requirements.

5. Misconduct and Ethical Violations

The editorial office considers cases of:

  • plagiarism;

  • duplicate or redundant publication;

  • data fabrication or falsification;

  • improper authorship;

  • copyright infringement.

Confirmed violations are handled in accordance with COPE recommendations.

6. Authorship Policy

Authorship is granted only to individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the research, data analysis, or manuscript preparation and have approved the final version.

Contributors providing technical or advisory assistance should be acknowledged in the “Acknowledgements” section.

7. Submission Policy

Submission of a manuscript implies that:

  • the work is original;

  • it has not been published previously;

  • it is not under consideration elsewhere;

  • all authors have agreed to its submission.

8. Data Availability and Reproducibility

The Journal supports the principles of open science and reproducibility.

Authors may be required to provide underlying data, technical drawings, or calculation materials upon request from editors or reviewers.

9. Post-publication Policy

The Journal considers substantiated comments on published articles and, where necessary, initiates correction or retraction procedures in accordance with its policies.
