THE EFFECT OF IMAGE BLURRING ON THE DETERMINATION OF ITS MULTIFRACTAL CHARACTERISTICS IN MATERIAL STRUCTURES

Abstract
The paper examines the influence of image quality (presence of Gaussian blurring) on the computed fractal characteristics and specific surface area of the material structure. It is demonstrated that the impact of Gaussian blurring on the multifractal characteristics of the structure is relatively smaller compared to its impact on the multifractal characteristics of the extracted boundaries system and its specific surface area. A conclusion is drawn that the multifractal analysis of the extracted boundaries system is an important characteristic that complements other characteristics of the material structure and quantitatively characterizes the development of the boundary system.
