The study of maneuver parameters with the simultaneous use of vehicle braking in the traffic accidents examination
Abstract
The methods of researching vehicle maneuvering parameters play an important role in the analysis of traffic accidents and allow experts to make calculations at a constant speed of movement to find out the events and circumstances that caused the accident. These techniques include various aspects of the technical characteristics of the vehicles and their movement, which may be important in the investigation. The application of these methods allows experts to analyze situations that can lead to traffic accidents, and to determine the possible causes and consequences of such accidents. They also help in developing recommendations to improve road safety and determine the responsibilities of the parties in an accident. The purpose of this work is to expand the possibilities of expert research into the mechanism of road traffic accidents by improving the methods of calculating the parameters of the movement of vehicles during the maneuver of bypassing an obstacle with the simultaneous application of braking. The relevance of this study is due to the need to expand the possibilities of expert analysis of traffic accidents that occurred during maneuvering of vehicles equipped with an anti-lock braking system. The proposed research methods are based on the provisions of theoretical mechanics and car theory, using existing and time-tested methods of determining vehicle maneuver parameters, based on the assumption of a linear nature of the speed change of a braked vehicle through mathematical modeling and numerical solution of systems of differential equations. On the basis of the developed mathematical model for the study of such types of maneuvers as "entering a turn", "entering-exiting" and "changing the traffic lane", final calculation formulas were obtained that can be applied in solving the most common issues in forensic automotive engineering in the study of traffic accidents that occurred during maneuvering of vehicles equipped with an anti-lock braking system.
